Fans around the globe tuned in full force on October 16th to watch The Legendary Downchild Blues Band’s final performance of 2020 in celebration of the International release of the band’s new 50th Anniversary album “Live At The Toronto Jazz Festival” (featuring special guests Dan Aykroyd, Paul Shaffer, David Wilcox, Kenny Neal, Gene Taylor & Erja Lyytinen).

Downchild put on a INCREDIBLE show and by popular demand, we’re running an ENCORE PERFORMANCE of the concert, October 20 – November 2, 2020, to bring LIVE BLUES back to fans worldwide and lift their spirits in these challenging times.

This special LIVE STREAM CONCERT was filmed LIVE with no overdubs, in front of a LIVE AUDIENCE and finds the iconic band in the groove and at the peak of their powers, bringing the BLUES PARTY from the Empire Theatre to your living room!

Downchild is donating $1.00 from every ticket sold to the Jane Vasey Memorial Scholarship Fund at Brandon University, in honour of their much loved former keyboard player, who passed away in 1982 from leukemia.

Jane Vasey Memorial Scholarship Fund

Donnie Walsh was instrumental in the founding of the Jane Vasey Memorial Scholarship fund at Brandon University in Brandon, Manitoba. The fund was co-founded by Vasey’s late parents (Dorothy and Ross) and Downchild BluesBand in 1983 to sponsor keyboards students in the Brandon University (almamater of Vasey) school of music.

Each year 2 scholarships in the amount of $2,500.00 have been awarded. The fund has grown to the amount of $80,000.00. Downchild continues to fund scholarships through benefit performances. The benefit amount is doubled thanks to a special program sponsored by the Government of Manitoba.

NOTE: Each ticket sold to Downchild’s live stream concert goes directly to support the musicians, crews and venue that have been hit extremely hard by the pandemic over the last 8 months, as well as the Jane Vasey Memorial Scholarship Fund charity.
